How fortunate I was to have a Grandmother who taught me many relevant lessons in life. Throughout the years, I've been in many situations where I've thought, "How would she handle this?" When that answer came to me, it served me well in my judgments of response.
Growing up, I spent a great deal of time with her on her farm. She created magic in her kitchen--lots of baking and cooking meals. When a particular food was unfamiliar to me, I would ask her, "Is it good?" She would always respond, "It's good if you like it."
That's the lesson. "It's good if you like it."
When we bake our cakes from scratch with our exclusive recipes and our Signature Style ButterCream, we don't just hope the customers like it...no, we hope they LOVE it!
We've appreciated that so many customers have given us overwhelming positive response to our cakes.
Tastes are subjective.
Some folks like sugary sweet frostings and some folks are used to canned frostings and cake mixes that grocery stores (and many) bakeries use.
Nothing wrong with that.
But our ButterCream is always authentic, pure, and delicately sweet. (not sugary sweet)
We make it in small batches--cooked, whipped to smooth creaminess.
Our cakes are baked daily...from scratch. Because they are not cake mixes, they are not artificially puffed up with enzymes and artificial flavors. They are heavier than a cake mix cake because they contain real ingredients -- eggs, extra egg yolks, whole milk, sugar, butter, cake flour, canola oil, baking soda and then the flavors -- Callebaut Chocolates & Cocoa, Vanilla, Pure Almond, Pure Lemons, Spices, Fruits.
So...my Grandmother's lesson applies to our cakes, as well. "It's good if you like it."
And we hope you like it.
